Van Gundy Gambles on Rep by Betting Against Bulls
Blogs Source:Pippen Ain't Easy | A Chicago Bulls Blog - August 13 09:25 AM CDT
He may be short, bald and about as easy on the eyes as Paul Giamatti in his Fred Claus fat suit, but nobody can deny that Jeff Van Gundy has a mind for basketball. A successful coach and adept commentator, Van Gundy has always been a logical-thinking, measured character, never one to blurt out bold predictions.
But in an interview with the Miami Herald, Jeff predicted that the Heat, with their pickup of LeBron James and Chris Bosh, would not only be the league’s best team, but also bre... Read More »

Jeff Van Gundy Drunk on Heat Kool-Aid
Blogs Source:Pippen Ain't Easy | A Chicago Bulls Blog - August 10 09:05 AM CDT
Jeff Van Gundy is all hopped up on Miami Heat Kool-Aid. He has already predicted them to break 2 of the NBA’s greatest records.
“They will break the single-season win record [of 72],” Jeff Van Gundy said. “And I think they have a legit shot at the Lakers’ 33-game [winning] streak [in 1971-72], as well. And only the Lakers have even a remote shot at beating them in a playoff series. They will never lose two games in a row this year.
I wonder if he’s just trying to turn up ... Read More »
Check Out Derrick Rose’s New Jumper
Blogs Source:Pippen Ain't Easy | A Chicago Bulls Blog - August 6 08:17 AM CDT
I have to agree with my man Vik and the crew at Docksquad Sports. Here’s what they had to say about DRose and his new look jumper:
“…Unlike certain self-proclaimed “Kings,” DRose has been in the gym putting in work on it all off season long, and it’s looking like it is paying off. People who have seen him play in the off season are raving about his new 3 point shot, and even the usually humble Rose is talking about it himself as well.”

Chicago Bulls Play the Knicks on Christmas Day

Christmas just got a little sweeter. The Bulls will be playing the Knicks at noon on Christmas Day. They’ll also get Kevin Durant and the Thunder on MLK Day. Here’s what former Bull Steve Kerr had to say about his old team:
“I actually think that (the Bulls) are the most well-rounded team in the East. Obviously, Miami has the most talent but when you look at Chicago’s mix, they’ve got two unbelievable frontcourt defenders with (Joakim) Noah and Taj Gibson, they’ve got the gr... Read More »

Bulls Land Brewer, Duke Haters Unite

Fans were starting to wonder if Dick Vitale secretly held a part-time job in the Bulls’ front office. Carlos Boozer. Jay Williams. Elton Brand. Luol Deng. And then…JJ Redick? Duke haters let out a huge sigh when the Magic chose to match the Bulls offer to Redick. He’ll be staying on Orlando.
Instead they got a player that they should have been targeting all along: Ronnie Brewer. Brewer is long, fast and a good defender. He’s not going to be raining threes like Kyle Korver... Read More »

Bulls Land Boozer, Wait on LeBron
Blogs Source:Pippen Ain't Easy | A Chicago Bulls Blog - July 8 07:13 AM CDT
Even if the Bulls don’t land LeBron James, they have an excellent consolation prize in power forward Carlos Boozer.
The Bulls just got something they’ve needed for years, and something all teams need to succeed in the NBA playoffs: low-post scoring. He’s also a solid rebounder and well-rounded fundamentally. The Bulls just added a 20-10 player to their starting lineup. If LeBron decided to go play elsewhere, the Bulls have still made a significant upgrade. Here’s a nice ... Read More »
Vinny Del Negro Hired By Clippers

Vinny Del Negro needed little time to find a new gig as a head coach in the NBA. He will be hired as coach of the Los Angeles Clippers, according to the Tribune.
Best part of the story of his hiring:
“Del Negro, who had one year and $2.2 million remaining on his Bulls contract, was said to have impressed Clippers owner Donald Sterling during the interview process. The terms of Del Negro’s contract were not immediately known, but it’s likely the Bulls will be off the hook for so... Read More »

Is LeBron James to Bulls a Done Deal?
Blogs Source:Pippen Ain't Easy | A Chicago Bulls Blog - June 28 09:26 AM CDT
Is LeBron James to the Chicago Bulls a done deal? One GM says so, and that Chris Bosh is coming too.
From Real GM:
An NBA executive told The New York Times that, based on discussions with other team officials, he believes that LeBron James and Chris Bosh have already decided to sign with the Bulls.
In that case, James’ meetings with teams this coming week would be merely a formality.
“I think it’s a done deal,” the executive said about James departing Cleveland for Chicag... Read More »

The Bulls Thursday on the eve of the NBA draft took another step toward the potential recruitment of a top free agent like LeBron James with a tentative trade to send Kirk Hinrich and the No. 17 pick in the draft to the Washington Wizards, sources close to both teams confirmed. The Wizards would not be sending anything back to the Bulls but absorbing Hinrich into their salary cap room. The trade for the Bulls would be to create additional salary cap space, close to about $31 million now, to perh... Read More »
Sam Smith's 2010 Mock Draft for Draft Day
Blogs Source:Chicago Bulls Blog - June 24 01:49 AM CDT
So here’s the last mock draft. It’s time for the real thing Thursday evening, the 2010 NBA draft. We’ve known for a long time Kentucky’s John Wall will go first, and Evan Turner, the local kid, from St. Joseph’s will get the Michael Jordan treatment: He’ll play for Doug Collins. But there’s not much certainty after that. The Nets were counting on No. 1 with that run at the alltime worst record, and now have several options. It’s seemed they were trying to lure Minnesota at No. 4,... Read More »
Thibodeau wastes no time in setting the tone
Blogs Source:Chicago Bulls Blog - June 23 02:20 PM CDT
By Adam Fluck New Bulls Head Coach Tom Thibodeau didn’t hesitate when it came down to outlining some of the items he hopes to accomplish in the short-term future. Namely, he discussed setting a tone and establishing goals as his introductory news conference. “There are five things I think we have to establish right away in terms of who we are,” said Thibodeau. “We’re going to be a defensive team, a rebounding team, a low turnover team, an inside-out team, and an unselfish team. Forman’s search starts and ends with Thibodeau

By Adam Fluck It turns out the first call Bulls General Manager Gar Forman made to start his coaching search could have been his last. Just five to six days into the process, Forman reached out to Tom Thibodeau, who on Wednesday was named the team’s 18th head coach in franchise history. “All of us know about his defensive credentials, but as we went about the process and we talked with other people who have worked with Tom, the thing that really became apparent to us is that he’s got a ver... You gotta love Ron-Ron. He thanks pretty much everyone he knows in this video, including his psychiatrist, Dr. Sandy.
